Alex is an activist educator, facilitator, and organizational leader. She specializes in unleashing people's potential through participatory processes that foster connection, joy, and dismantle limiting narratives. As the head of AktivAsia Regional, she ensures impactful programs, managing resource allocation and expansion to new areas with emerging needs. With nearly 30 years of experience in environment, social justice, and international development in the Asia Pacific, Alex spent 13 years in Indonesia, a place close to her heart. Co-founder and Managing Director of AktivAsia, previously led Hijau Biru, a team of bilingual educators focusing on facilitation, design, monitoring, evaluation, and strategic planning. In her free time, Alex enjoys busking with her guitar as a singer-songwriter.

Francis Joseph Dela Cruz
Francis Joseph Dela Cruz
Francis, an avid campaigner and organizer, ignited his activism in 1984 during the Marcos dictatorship, fighting for democratic rights in the Philippines. Transitioning to the non-profit sector in the early 1990s, he embraced sustainable development, highlighted by the 1992 Earth Summit. Actively working on environmental issues, he collaborated with Greenpeace Southeast Asia and the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities (ICSC).
Driven by a growing interest in humanitarianism, he engages in various efforts in his homeland. As a facilitator in campaign organizing, leadership, project management, and nonviolent social change, Francis aspires to teach Civics Education someday, nurturing knowledge and empowerment.

Rubby, an activist educator, sociopreneur, and co-founder of AktivAsia, passionately supports Indonesia's climate and energy movement, striving for social and environmental justice through structural change. Inspired by his sister's experiences, he established Kerjabilitas in 2014, empowering marginalized youth with disabilities for positive impact.
With decades of experience, Rubby champions popular education and community organizing, empowering individuals in their battles, including the climate crisis. Beyond his work, he finds solace in playing Folk and Rock guitar, savoring coffee, and connecting with strangers while exploring Indonesia's beauty - his cherished home.

Noorulain Masood

Noorulain Masood, the AktivAsia Pakistan lead and CSIDC Founder and CEO, is driven by strategic, self-reflective, and constituency-focused sustainable change. She first collaborated with Marshall Ganz at Harvard University in 2012, further developing Organizing and Public Narrative frameworks. With experience teaching Adaptive Leadership and coordinating courses, she's worked with over 1000+ activists, nonprofit executives, and grassroots leaders. Following her Fulbright-funded Masters in Public Administration/International Development at Harvard, she contributed to policy-making institutions like the World Bank and United Nations, led Teach For Pakistan, and designed a DFID-funded pilot for grassroots leaders. Noor served as a teaching staff at Harvard University from 2019 to 2021.

Jihun Jang is an environmental educator and the Korea Training Coordinator for Aktivasia. She believes in people power and loves bridging people, organisations, and strategies for collective impact. She is a Director of BigWave, a local youth climate change organisation.

Elainne Lopez
Elainne Lopez
Elainne is an engineer and a community worker with a passion for working with communities in solving their problems and making science and technology work for the people. She was part of the first nationwide hazard mapping project in the Philippines before getting involved in the development sector through the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities or ICSC where she worked on different studies and partnerships to integrate climate action in governance and policy making for sustainable development. After obtaining her master’s degree, she took on the role of the Operations Manager in AktivAsia Philippines with the hopes of empowering people to win their own campaigns through workshops and alliance building. She likes to travel and listen to ambient and worship music along with her interests in the application of systems thinking and complexity theory as well as her knowledge in Korean language and culture.

Amna Tufail
Amna Tufail
Amna Tufail is a Program Associate at CSIDC. After receiving her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Karachi, she worked as an Assistant Manager at The Citizens Foundation (TCF). At TCF, she was primarily responsible for designing the Social Studies curriculum. Soon after she received the Fulbright scholarship and completed her Masters in Educational Psychology and Human Development from the University of Minnesota.
Amna’s research interests focus on examining the experiences of students in public schools in Pakistan, social, emotional and cognitive development of learners and embedding skill building in the curriculum so that young people are well-prepared to continue their learning and contribute to their communities when they graduate. Her masters thesis was based on examining the spatial ability of students in low-cost schools in Pakistan. She is currently part of the Social Sciences and Liberal Arts department at IBA as adjunct faculty.
She is looking forward to engaging in a strategic blend of theory and practise necessary for addressing the complex and systemic challenges confronting society.

Aiza Amin

Aiza Amin is the Senior Program Officer at CSIDC. She completed her bachelor’s in Accounting and Finance from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi in 2020. After a brief corporate experience as a content strategist at a Digital Marketing agency she realised her true calling had always been social development, hence she pursued her master’s degree in International Public Policy from Queen Mary University London in 2022.
Having been involved in various philanthropic endeavours since her childhood she has a strong fervour for social reform through innovation, entrepreneurship, education, women empowerment, and leadership. She is especially inquisitive about how adaptive leadership and organising frameworks coupled with mindfulness can catalyse change primarily in the climate justice ecosystem.
She lives in Karachi, Pakistan where she practises aerial yoga and loves to paint. She has a deep interest in meditation and often delves deep into human psychology and behaviour. An avid reader, you’ll often catch her curled up with a book in between work breaks!

Rara is a campaigner in a community called the Nahdliyyin Front for Sovereignty of Natural Resources (FNKSDA) in the Yogyakarta Regional Committee. Since 2019, she has been learning discourses related to ecology, organising and campaigning. The things she does include conducting mini research, compiling campaigns with networks and managing digital campaigns.
Rara completed her undergraduate studies at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta with a scholarship in 2022. During her studies, she also joined several campus organisations and jointly held several student activities. During college she focused on religious studies. She is also interested in connecting religious discourse with the themes of ecology and feminism. Since mid-2022, Rara has started working with the AktivAsia team as a project assistant. She is interested in the world of education and organises several small book reading and discussion circles.

Hi! I am Mirajanna, but also you can call me Mira. Currently, I am working with AktivAsia Indonesia as a project assistant. I am so much in love with an environmental issues especially about climate crisis, those was the reason why I work with AktivAsia team.
Before working with AktivAsia Indonesia, I worked with WALHI South Sulawesi. I learned a lot about environmental and also grassroots issues. I plan to focus on environmental issues (study and my career) because I really love nature. They're naturally beautiful and perfectly calming. By the way, some people say I am a social butterfly because I easily build an atmosphere with people. Maybe, I agree with them. Last but not least, I am a coffee team and a sweet tooth.
